David Haddad, Chair, Executive Committee
David Haddad is the President and owner of Haddad’s, Inc. – a studio equipment rental company based out of Pittsburgh, PA. In his 30 years in the business, Mr. Haddad has overseen rentals to more than 2100 feature films and television series. He is dedicated to keeping the film and television industry in Pennsylvania.
Adam McNichol, Vice Chair, Executive Committee, Government Relations Committee
Adam grew up in the trucking and transportation industry. His Family owned and operated a trucking and truck repair company headquartered in Philadelphia. During that time, he started to work with the teamsters in Philadelphia on productions they were doing and repairing trucks on set. That is when Adam first got his taste of what was happening with filming in Philadelphia. When his family closed their operations in the mid-2000s, he went to work for Rob’s towing and transport. After a few years with them, he left to take his current position with Hertz Equipment Rental, now HERC Rentals. He has been working with them to grow their exposure with the TV/Film and Event market in Philadelphia. They have a large presence in the US movie and production industry and are working very hard to make it known in Philadelphia. He very much enjoys seeing how it all works from beginning to end. Adam knows how much the tax credit is limiting our work in Pennsylvania and he would love to help bring the exposure it needs to Harrisburg to make changes.
Mike McCann, Treasurer, Executive Committee, Government Relations Chair
Michael V. McCann is a Principal at Film Incentives Group as well as the President and founder of MVM Associates, Inc. Mr. McCann is a well-known national specialist in transferable state tax credits. To date, his companies have assisted hundreds of firms in the administration and transfer of over $500 million of tax credits in Pennsylvania, Georgia, Oregon, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Michigan, Florida and elsewhere throughout the U.S. He has worked on behalf of many notable tax credit sellers including all ten of the largest film production companies in the U.S, many of the leading television networks in the U.S. and one of the world’s largest auto manufacturers. In many transactions, Mr. McCann has represented the tax credit purchaser and, in this capacity, has worked on behalf of some of the world’s largest corporations. He also has a depth of experience in matters relating to pre-financing/monetizing film and television tax credits and has worked on such transactions (secured and unsecured) in multiple states throughout the U.S. He lectures throughout the U.S. on transferable tax credits and has appeared on many expert panel discussions on this topic.
Dana Michael, Secretary, Executive Committee, Marketing Chair
Dana Michael has worked in production for the last decade. She was the Head Producer at Get-Kinetic in Philadelphia until 2015 winning multiple awards. Clients have included Neil Patrick Harris, NBC10, The Wonder Years, Alex’s Lemonade Stand and Bimbo Bread, among others. Dana continues to coordinate for agencies and production companies and sits on the Advisory Board of PIFVA, is a SAG-AFTRA National Convention Delegate and is the Co-Chair of the PhillyAdClub Social Committee.
Dave Bowers, Board Member, Sponsorship Chair, Nominating Committee
Dave Bowers is the President of David Bowers & Associates, LLC which provides financial/accounting services to film/television production companies in regards to the PA Film Tax Credits. Mr. Bowers is also a Principal of Film Incentives Group, LLC, a nationwide broker of film tax credits and a provider of financial/accounting services in connection with film tax credits and incentives.
Maria Breyman, Board Member, Co-Chair Membership Committee
Maria Breyman is an actress, writer, inspirational speaker, producer at Dionysus Productions, and director of Ann Kids Food Program that provides free meals to over 300 children daily. She moved to USA in 2001 and did not speak any English. Since then, she got her Master’s Degree in teaching English, Communication and Acting; joined SAG-AFTRA; participated in numerous films, TV Shows and Commercials; had her work featured in film festivals; staged multiple children’s theater shows; performed with her poetry and speaking engagements; and organized multiple film industry events and charitable fundraisers. She is a Co-Chair of PaFIA Membership Committee and a passionate PaFIA supporter.
Richard Chapla, Board Member, Sponsorship Committee
Rich Chapla, born and raised in Butler, PA, has worked in production for 20 years. He returned to Pittsburgh in 2014 and worked on his seventh film in Pittsburgh recently, “Concussion.” He has worked on more than 45 films in five countries and is a DGA Award Winner. He currently lives in the Strip district and has a farm in Clarion where he spends off time with his female dog, Larry, who has been to nine countries with Rich.
Frank Conforti, Board Member, Marketing Committee
Frank Conforti, born and bred in Pennsylvania, had a diverse career prior to entering the film industry in 2008 as a driver. After more than a dozen films in that role, Frank was appointed as Transportation Captain on the Pittsburgh portion of "The Avengers." He has worked on over 20 features and three television shows since 2008, and made his debut as a Transportation Coordinator on “Concussion” in 2014. Frank is a member of the Teamsters and of SAG/AFTRA.
Kate Gittings, Board Member
Kate Gittings is a member of IATSE Local 161 and Production Coordinator out of Pittsburgh, PA. Kate is a transplant to Pennsylvania, graduating from Pennsbury High School in Yardley, Bucks County. After graduation, Kate moved to her family’s hometown of Pittsburgh, PA where she attended the University of Pittsburgh and graduated with a BA in Communications and a Minor in Business Administration. After college, Kate started her own Event Planning business with two partners and spent seven years cultivating and enriching the nightlife/arts/entertainment scene in Pittsburgh, New York, Philadelphia, Baltimore and Washington, DC.
In 2009, Kate was introduced to the film business. Kate has always been passionate about films and with the opportunity to change careers and still do what she loved, she switched gears. She joined the business as a Production Assistant and shortly after found her niche in the production office. Working on 13 Feature Films, Multiple Commercials and two Television Series, Kate is now the Production Coordinator on a Television Series shooting in Pittsburgh. Kate actively supports and volunteers in the Arts/Entertainment Culture in Pittsburgh and is constantly supporting local business’ to keep jobs and money in PA. Kate joined PAFIA in February 2015 and is an active member of the organization.
Diane Heery, Board Member
A casting director with over 20 years’ experience, Diane is a member of the prestigious Casting Society of America. She is the 2013 ARTIOS winner for casting “Silver Linings Playbook” and 2013 Primietime EMMY nominee for casting USA network’s “Political Animals.” Diane has cast principal actors in many independent feature films, in addition to major studio films including: “Jersey Girl” (K. Smith), “Signs,” “Unbreakable,” “The Sixth Sense” (N. Shyamalan), “Lucky Numbers” (N. Ephron), “Jesus’ Son” (A. MacLean), “National Treasure” (J. Turtletaub), “Invincible” (E. Core), “Rocky Balboa” (S. Stallone.)and M. Night Shyamalan’s, “The Last Airbender,” Peter Jackson’s “The Lovely Bones,” F. Gary Gray’s “Law Abiding Citizen” and David O. Russell’s “Silver Linings Playbook.” Diane is a graduate of Temple University’s Department of Theatre and is proud to be a member of two “Halls of Fame”: Temple University’s and her high school, St. Hubert’s.
John Horell, Board Member, Government Relations Committee
John received his bachelor’s degree in accounting from The Pennsylvania State University in 2004. That same year, he began his professional career with Harry K. Sickler Associates in Tyrone, PA. Currently, John is President of KIZ Resources, LLC. John and his company are recognized throughout Pennsylvania for their experience and leadership in obtaining and monetizing various types of government incentives including the Pennsylvania Film Tax Credits. A strong advocate for higher education, John serves as a member of the Penn State Altoona Sheetz Center for Entrepreneurial Excellence Advisory Board and the Penn State Altoona Enactus Business Advisory Board.
Jeannee Josefczyk, Board Member, Programs Co-Chair West
Jeannee Josefczyk is a professional makeup artist and a journeyman of IATSE 798 NY. She has worked in the business for 25 years, working on films, TV series, live shows, concerts and commercials, and has worked with several Presidents of the United States. Ms. Josefczyk is one of the founders for The Pittsburgh Film Office and The Pittsburgh Film Workers Association and has been the President of The Pittsburgh Film Workers Association for ten years. Jeannee is also on the board of Women in Film and on the board of Valleywide Credit Union.
Jason Loftus, Co-Chair Programs East, Board Member
Casting Director, 2013 ARTIOS winner for casting “Silver Linings Playbook,” 2013 Primetime EMMY nominee for casting USA network’s “Political Animals” and 2016 ARTIOS nominee for casting ABC’s “How to Get Away with Murder.” A graduate of the University of North Carolina at Wilmington, Jason has been involved in many aspects of filmmaking. He has worked as a talent agent and also for the Screen Actors’ Guild in member relations. Jason has also worked on-set for film and television productions such as: CBS’ “Hack,” "Like Mike" and "The Italian Job." Now retired from acting, Jason has been in several Television and Film projects such as “The Sopranos,” "Dawson’s Creek,” "Hack," "Cold Case" and "Freedom Song." Most recently, Jason just wrapped up Production on his first feature film that he developed and produced called "Zeroes." Currently, Jason is a Casting Director at Heery-Loftus Casting, and is a member of the Prestigious Casting Society of America. Jason has worked on major studio features such as: “National Treasure,” “Invincible,” “Law Abiding Citizen,” “Rocky Balboa,” “Shooter,” “The Lovely Bones,” “Silver Linings Playbook," ABC’s Pilot “How to Get Away with Murder” and “Creed.”
James Madison, Board Member
James Madison is a Co-Owner and Producer for Expressway Productions and Expressway Grip. He is passionate about the local industry and has dedicated his companies to the sustainable growth of our creative community and providing the highest quality of resources and services to the area. Expressway has grown to become an invaluable resource for all facets of video production and for helping filmmakers from every background grow and succeed as industry professionals.
James Mahathey, Co-Chair Membership Committee, Board Member
James Mahathey is a Location Manager for Feature Films, Television and Commercials. Mr. Mahathey has worked in the film industry for 17 years and is also the owner of JAM FILM Productions. JAM FILM Productions is a Location Services, Photography and Production Company based in Pittsburgh, PA.
Kevin McQuillan, Government Relations & Sponsorship Committees
Kevin McQuillan is a Certified Public Accountant and Principal at the McQuillan Group, a Pittsburgh Pennsylvania based boutique accounting firm. He works with small and mid-sized companies in industries such as construction, manufacturing, distribution, restaurants, and nonprofits. Additionally, Kevin and The McQuillan Group have developed a unique niche working with production companies and the film industry as a result of the establishment of the PA film tax credit.
James Pastorius, Board Member
James Pastorius is the Visual Effects Supervisor for Savage Visual Effects, a company he co-founded in 2007. Based out of Los Angeles, Savage has worked with some of the best studios and directors in Hollywood. Since setting up a facility in Pittsburgh in 2012, Savage has also worked on projects that have come to Pennsylvania to shoot, including The Fault in Our Stars and Foxcatcher.
David Raynor, Board Member
David Raynor has been a production coordinator in film and television since 2002. A lifelong Pennsylvania resident, he graduated with honors from Temple University’s Film and Media Arts program. In addition to being a member of IATSE 161, Mr. Raynor is also a member of the Producers Guild of America and on the board of Working Film Establishment. His recent credits include M. Night Shyamalan’s “The Visit”, “Silver Linings Playbook” and the forthcoming “Creed” for MGM.
John Rusk, Board Member, Government Relations Committee
John Rusk is a Producer and Assistant Director who has contributed to the production of over forty feature films and television shows as well as dozens of commercials. His film credits include “Dead Poets Society,” “Avalon,” “A League of Their Own,” “The Pelican Brief,” “Outbreak,” “Twelve Monkeys” and “The Sixth Sense.”
Amy Sotereanos, Board Member
Amy Sotereanos has worked in the film industry for over a decade, starting with ICM in Los Angeles as a Business Affairs assistant in the Television Department. Currently, Amy is a Film Transportation DOT/Dispatch professional in Pittsburgh and a member of Teamsters Local 249. Additionally, she is a member of the Pennsylvania Association of Notaries and has served as a mobile notary for production and escrow closing companies.
Heather Tassoni, Board Member
Heather Tassoni is the Director of Business Rental Sales in the Greater Philadelphia Area for Enterprise Holdings, who operates Enterprise Rent-A-Car and National Car Rental. Enterprise has been servicing the film, television and commercial industry in the Commonwealth for over 20 years by supplying rental cars, trucks or vans with our J.D. Powers awarding winning customer service.
