Location: Sheraton Station Square, Pittsburgh, PA

PaFIA hosted it’s latest Pittsburgh event Sunday evening, May 20th, at the Sheraton Station Square. Guest speakers were Jeff Waxman and Julie Hartley, Executive Producer and Unit Production Manager of the feature film “Out of The Furnace” which is currently shooting in the Pittsburgh area.

Jeff was also Executive Producer of “Mirror, Mirror” and Co-Producer of “The Fighter” and “Law Abiding Citizen.”

Julie was also Unit Production Manager of “Shoedog” and “Joe Somebody” and was Production Supervisor for “A Simple Plan.”

Julie and Jeff spoke about the importance of the tax credit for the continuation of the film business in Pennsylvania. They also talked about what a great experience it has been to film in Pittsburgh. They raved about the skilled and talented crew and actors and the amazing spirit of cooperation that they have found in Pittsburgh. They also delighted the crowd of approximately 75 PaFIA members and guests with stories of how they got started in the business and some great insider stories of their many projects. Afterward, there was a lively question and answer session followed by networking with wonderful food and drink provided by the Sheraton.

Thanks to the Sheraton Station Square for hosting our event. It was a great success!
