September Membership Event with John Rusk

Featured guest speaker John Rusk, Producer and Assistant Director, is a three-time nominee for his contributions to films recognized by the Directors Guild of America for Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Motion Pictures. Credits include: Dead Poets Society, Avalon, A League of Their Own, The Pelican Brief, Twelve Monkeys, Bulworth, Doubt, The Sixth Sense, Signs, Unbreakable and Devil. Currently, John Rusk is co-producing M. Night Shyamalan’s next feature for Columbia Pictures.

Rusk has assisted numerous Oscar-nominated directors, including three films with Peter Weir and three with Alan J. Pakula. Other Oscar-nominated directors with whom he has worked include Barry Levinson, Wolfgang Petersen, Jonathan Demme, Terry Gilliam, John Patrick Shanley, Mark Rydell, and John Schlesinger.

At the PaFIA’s September Membership Event, Mr. Rusk provided fascinating perspectives on film productions. He said, “After filming in 26 states, Pennsylvania is still my favorite!”

Mr. Rusk is a proud member of the Directors Guild of America, the Producers Guild of America, Screen Actors Guild and the Pennsylvania Film Industry Association.
