Dear PA Film Industry Association Members and Friends,

For the first time in the film industry, like-minded companies and individuals are joining forces throughout Pennsylvania to form the collective voice of an entertainment industry that must be heard.  The PA Film Industry Association brings together members who are passionate about promoting film and television related business and who see the real potential entertainment production can play in the economic growth of our keystone state.

Since the film tax credit program began, established by the state in 2006, the film industry has impacted local PA communities to the tune of over half-a-billion dollars in taxpayer revenue. When movies and television shows are created here, services in use include: hotels, crew, craft services, electricity, equipment, casting, entertainment, car rentals, restaurants, carpenters, sound stage, film processing, accounting and much more. As more productions enter the arena, additional services are created and become viable entities.

With over 150 million dollars invested in the film business in Pennsylvania, our state is pulling the rug out from under a growing industry when it reduces or threatens to eliminate the tax credit program, one which requires a film production to hire 60% of its services right here in our backyard, putting real dollars into the pockets of our taxpayers, here – not California or New York or Canada.

But Pennsylvania is no stranger to innovation in the entertainment business. Our state boasts the first newspaper, the first all motion-picture theater, the first television broadcast, the first radio broadcast, the first cable television, and the first educational public television station. Now, we are creating the first ever trade association related to film and we are asking you to join us.

As a member of the PA Film Industry Association, you will be kept informed of important industry updates, ongoing initiatives to support the film tax credit and networking opportunities where you can meet others who believe in film and television as a vibrant and growing stimulus to the Pennsylvania economy.
We have already taken several initial steps to building PAFIA into a non-profit worth YOUR membership:

  1. Recruited a Solid Team of Start-Up Volunteers (See About Us – Board)
  2. Hired an outside professional to manage the Association: Jane Barr Pino, Executive Director
  3. Held several membership drives and star-studded launch events with more in the works.

So, how can you fill YOUR starring role in this innovative, exciting new group poised to take PA film to new heights? Register here, NOW!
Sincerely,

David Haddad
