Location: The Westin Convention Center Pittsburgh

Featured guest speaker Jake Myers has worked in the film industry for nearly 20 years, in positions ranging from Studio Executive at Miramax to Producer of films including Chicago, 1408, Red, The Brothers Grimm, and Man on a Ledge.

Mr. Myers is the Executive Producer of the thriller One Shot starring Tom Cruise, Rosamund Pike and Robert Duvall which was shooting for months in Pittsburgh. The movie wrapped in mid January 2012.

One Shot is about a homicide investigator who digs deeper into a case involving a trained military sniper who shot five random victims. It’s based on a book in Lee Child’s crime series. Film is directed by Christopher McQuarrie and will arrive in theaters in 2013.

At the PaFIA event, Mr. Myers shared his professional background with our members and guests. He talked about his journey as a production assistant to Studio Executive to a producer. Mr. Myers also discussed his experience filming One Shot in Pittsburgh. He emphasized that one of the main reason why One Shot came to Pittsburgh was because of the PA Film Tax Credit incentive.
