State of the Union - October 2018

I would like to thank all of PAFIA's members for their dedication to the film industry in our state. Your hard work in the past year helped save our film tax credit program - it is set at $65 million for the second year in a row. While this tax credit gets the attention of producers, it is our members' passion that has promoted Pennsylvania's name as an ideal shooting location for large budget productions.

PAFIA currently has 775 dues paying members. This is broken down by 271 individual members and 504 corporate members and sponsors. We have 24 board members, all of whom have been very active in raising money to further our cause. A total of $65,500 has been raised to date.

Over the course of 2018, we have been more active on social media, bringing film related news and events to your attention, as well as sharing photos from sets filming in PA. We would like to continue to increase our presence on social media, as a way to reach a wider audience.

Our hope for the future is to reach more areas of Pennsylvania with a focus on the Independent Film World. The goal is to eventually increase our revenue to hire a part-time executive director who can guide PAFIA to the next level.

Thank you again, for your dedication to PAFIA's mission and unwavering support for the film industry in Pennsylvania. Because of you, we can continue to promote our cause, making sure that the film tax credit program in PA only gets stronger.

Sincerely,
David Haddad
